My old 14 has been kept on a gravel beach each summer and the bottoms of the hulls has worn thru in one or two places. How can I get a template for the hull cross section shape and how best to re-fiberglass this to add some thickness and shape to the hull bottoms. I am 76 years old and only need about 5 years more use in this old hobie and we both can retire to neptunes paradise or mariners old sailors home. |

Called a "Bottom Job". You layer strips of resin-soaked cloth on top of each other, then shape. There is a detailed version on a Hobie 16 here: http://hobie16bottomjob.blogspot.com/ |
