Does a document similar to this exist for H14?:

No, but the sails were pretty much the same each year for the 14, 16 and then Hobie 18.

Thanks. I only ask because I have never seen pictures of a sail pattern that matches mine and it's not in the pattern guide either. As far as I know the sails are original. The mainsail panels are colored (top to bottom) white, white, orange, orange, blue, purple, and white. The jib is light blue.

Could have been custom or an event color maybe.

Post a pic of your sail, worth a thousand comments!

I had the sails out over the summer (while assessing what need to be replaced) and didn't think to take a picture of them. I took some pictures of the main sail partially rolled up in my living room but it's not great. If the weather holds I may have a chance to lay it out in the back yard and take a photo of it this week.

Well the weather didn't hold but the sun did melt most of the snow in our back yard after a couple weeks. So, I finally got around to laying out the sails for my boat and taking a picture of them.

That's an event sail from the 1983 Hobie 14 Nationals in Ventura, CA - the last 14 event where Hobie Cat provided the boats.

This issue of the HotLine has the photos / coverage of the event - https://media.hobie.com/digital_assets/ ... 984_01.pdf

Color photos on page 43; there's a B&W photo of your sail sitting on the beach on page 70.

You are amazing. Thank you so much. Page 70 is probably going to end up framed and on a wall at my house.

That sounds like fun. It is definitely not in the same shape it was in for the race. I've been fixing it up for the last few months (now I'm just waiting for the weather to warm up enough that I can repaint the hulls and put it back together). I'm hoping to get it out on the water this summer. The sails are in pretty rough shape and will probably have to be replaced soon. I'm hoping they have at least another year left in them.

It looks like the bottom white panel (with the window and race info) was replaced with a solid white panel. Is that typical for Hobie to do before selling a boat that was provided for a race?

Not at all. The boats were sold at a discount after the event - the less they did to them post event, the better. The sail might have been damaged or not had the info / window originally. I note the sailmaker's patch is still there, so I'm thinking it's the latter.
