Does anyone have and older H14 that sits really low in the water? If so, does anyone have a remedy? My H14 is a 1982. Thanks |

The only reason it would sit low in the water would be because it is heavy. If water has leaked into the hulls, then you can drain it out using the plug in the transome, under the rudder. Otherwise, there isn’t a lot you can do. If the boat sat in the water, or had water in the hulls, for a long time, then moisture could have been absorbed into the fiberglass, causing weight gain. Water could have also been absorbed by the foam flotation blocks inside the hulls. You would need to try to dry to boat out. You can add a 4” diameter access port behind the forward pylon, which will allow airflow inside the hull to help dry things out. This will also allow you to check the condition of the foam blocks. Don’t expect a dramatic change, even if you do go this route. sm |

Or... the crew is too heavy for it. The optimal race weight for crew is 150 lbs less. The H14 has very low volume hulls and was designed for a single sailor crew. |
