Post subject: | Rudder Assembly |
I recently purchased a 1983 hobie 14 and I have limited experience with hobie cats. The rudders come down easily on both sides, but the starboard rudder hangs up when i try to pull the rudders up using the tiller. When the boat is on the trailer the rudders move up and down when I push and pull on the blades, but hang up when I use the tiller. Are the bolts too tight? Is there a trick I don't know about? Any help is appreciated. |

Don't use the tiller. Grasp the connecting rod near the pivot to raise or lower each rudder seperately. Are your rudders locking down ok? The cams should lock the rudders down when they are latched properly. |
