some pitting and surface de-gradation has occured on the side of my H16 mast, apparantly where it rested in the rubberized trailer cradle for years. we are almost done refurbishing the boat and was abouut to work over the mast and noticed FOUR pitted spots, the largest about like a pencil eraser... the depth is about, half the wall thickness(Guess)
can someone give thoughts as to the chance for this to contribute to failure of the mast under loading... the four areas are above the luff entrance, about 5'........just trying to figure if my next step is some kind of fix?...or going sailing
or shopping for a new mast.??
