Vinylester resin is a polyester type resin...it's a high grade type. This resin flows out into the fabric (fiberglass) quicker than a regular "boat yard" type. When you add MEKP (catalyst) to it and mix it in you'll find the resin changes from a slight rose color to a light tan, showing you have a good mix. You will probably find also that as it cures it may turn back to a rose tint (chemistry at it's finest). Keep in mind that Vinylester is a laminating resin which will cure with a tacky feeling on the surface.... unless you add "Surfacing Agent" (wax) which will help the curing. |
