| Post subject: | Reassembling Frame/Hulls - Grease and Ventilation Tube |
My new-to-me H16 has been disassembled for a while now for repairs. Almost finished with them, and have two questions about putting it back together: 1. Looks like there was grease on the joints to slide the frame onto the pylons. Do I need to add grease before reassembling, or is this unnecessary (in which case I'll clean it all off before reassembling)? 2. One of the hulls does not seem to have a ventilation tube. It is not exposed, and I have taken the top layer of foam out of the forward pylon and found nothing. How big of a problem is this? Will it be okay if I just remember to unscrew the plugs whenever I come in? If it is an issue, how do I install a new one? Is it as easy as buying some tubing, removing foam from pylons, and inserting the tube before reinstalling foam? If so, how long is the piece of tubing I will need? |

There is grease on the pylons from the factory. Clean it off and use a marine lithium grease to lightly lubricate the pylons. It will make the boat go together much easier. The missing vent tube is not a problem as long as you remember to open the drain plugs every time the boat is out of the water. |

Thanks for the advice. I think I'll go without the ventilation tube for now. If I want to reinstall, is the process as described? |
