Post subject: | Masthead bedding compound |
I have searched but haven't found. What is the preferred bedding compound, if any, for the masthead block on a H14? What is best for the foam plug and plate? The stuff I cleaned out smelled like Sikaflex. Thanks GH |

Thanks,That was a good thread link. I thought it was Sikaflex. I ended up sticking the plate and foam plug to the bottom of the head block with 5200 and letting it cure outside the mast. I then bedded down the assembly into the mast with professional grade silicone and re riveted the head block. It will get checked this weekend in the Rappahanock River. GH |
