Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with repairing cracked rudder mounts on a Hobie 16 or might know of any resources online? I haven't had much luck finding anything although it seems a common problem. Thanks!

Cracked mounts? Hull or the fittings attached?

There are conversations about transom repairs in these forums. Try various text searches on the "search" link above.

Thanks Matt! Its the hull. I'm new to hobie sailing so just trying to get the kinks in my boat ironed out. I noticed a lot of slop in my rudders so I'm guessing that's the most likely culprit to the cracks.

Boat may have backed up over the rudders and hit... May have corrosion in the aluminum plates within the hulls.

Cracking at the upper hole through the deck is totally normal and not an issue.

Cracking at the upper hole through the deck (for the rudder pin) is totally normal and not an issue.

Sorry, I guess I didn't give many details. The cracking is around the upper hole. That's good to know its nothing to worry about!

Sometimes people even cut that away and make it a notch rather than a hole. No problem!!
