Hello, took my mirage sport out this past weekend and noticed a decent amount of water in the hull. I haven't ran Amy pressure tests to check if there is a hole in the hull but I did give it a quick visual check with a flashlight in the hull. I couldn't find any hulls but noticed that the plastic gaskets where the rudder lines run through are cracked/broken. I was wondering if water would be able to enter through thoses gaskets. If so, where can I get replacements and/or what are alternatives to getting those holes fixed?Image

There is an o-ring that is inside the tube that should seal it. You can replace the line in the tube as an assembly:

80025001 LINE CONTROL ASSY - (1) LINE

So I ended up running the water test(I filled the hull with soapy water and lifted one end and then the other, looking for spots where water was leaking. Luckily, the hull seems to be ok, no holes. My suspicion was correct, the water is going in through the rudder up/down line entry holes. Water was also moving through where the Up/Down knobs/pull levers live, I don't know if that is normal. Looks like I'll need the above replacement?

I have broken the rudder cable a few times on my Hobie Sport - without a rear hatch to make replacing the cable 'easier' - could Hobie PLEASE put up a video specifically for maintenance/replacement for Hobie Sports? I cannot find a single video covering cable replacement for Sports

It is highly specialised & difficult to do. I have been unable to re-attach the bungee cord on the 'Up' handle ..... it has disappeared into the body of the kayak! :(

We do not have the ability to do a specific video at this time. Working from home and not kayak available. Sorry!

Appreciate that, Matt - maybe when things get back to normal.

Stay safe & well
