I have a Mirage Oasis tandem kayak.
The forward steering crank shaft is seized inside the nut that it passes through.
This nut is glued into the hull of the kayak.
I've hammered the steering crank shaft down level with the nut and can't get it down any further.
Next try is to hammer from the other direction and see if the nut will come out then cut off the steering crank and start over with new parts.

Does anyone have a better solution?

Can anyone tell me what this nut is made of ?
Is this or hopefully an upgraded part available from Hobie?
What adhesive works to secure mewl to Hobie hull material?

Thanks,

Edward

Brass.

Penetrating oil?

The part in molded in, so maybe an epoxy can bond it back in if it comes out.
