Hey I have a question for those who single hand trapeeze. Do you guys have tiller extentions? Would it work to just stand way back so I can reach the stock tiller? I hate the idea of spending big bucks on a longer tiller if I'm only going to use it very little. Would standing wayyyy back put to much stress on the mast? Another question... Does any one have ideas for possible double tillers? The problem would be that the leeward tiller would fall into the water. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated! Thanks |

I don't trap from my getaway but have solo on 16. I am not sure the stock tiller extension is long enough. There was a mod posted on this site were someone did rig up double tillers. They used U clips (like the kind that would hold brooms) mounted to the rudder connection bar. |

I went out and bought a commercial grade paint stick extender, then just make up the end to fit on the boat, they come in different lengths and with just a twist of the wrist you can make it longer or shorter. and for a about 20 bucks its cheap. |

Thanks I replaced the original tiller with a FX03 Arriba HotStick almost immediately after I got my Getaway, as I found the stock tiller too flexible for my taste. The FX03 about 1 foot longer than the stock tiller and works fine for trapezing. |

SailFast, Check out my earlier post: http://www.hobiecat.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=10926 I used a telescoping aluminum paint roller extension. Works great. I actually installed one on each side with clips to hold the one I wasn't using. It didn't really make it any easier so I took one off and am back to a single. Gordon |
