So I go to get my boat from storage for the annual " clean the dead critters" off and there is a Getaway 3 stalls down. Any one know who it belongs to? t would be great to hook up? Paul |

Paul How is the mast raising system working for you? Are you likely to venture up to Alameda this summer? |

The system works well, but is a bit complicated and does take time. The good news is it is alot safer. I probably will give Alameda a go this year. I also just sent a check to fleet 20 and hope to get up to Woodward. Paul |

The Mast raising system does work well for me as well. It is almost enjoyable to raise the mast ! But it takes time indeed. |

It does work well. time is my enemy , so I 'm really trying to get her into the Port of Redwood City so I can store it with the mast up. I am not going to allow the mast to be my excuse for not sailing enough this season. I just used Bar Keepers Friend and Bonamie mixed into a paste to clean the hulls. It really worked well. I am shooting to sail this Sunday. Paul |

Paul, why don't you put your boat on the Santa Cruz beach ? It is further away from Fremont, but we have a very active group of sailors, and weekends are a lot of fun. |

That's not a bad idea. What does that involve? My wife and I both really enjoy Santa Cruz and the entire coast. Paul |

50$/month to keep the boat on the beach (or on parking lot in winter), 100$ refundable deposit. Then, you just go and sail as much as you want ! My getaway is there, many 16, 18, ... Fleet 240 is very active over there. A couple of regattas are also planned for this summer. The drive from the bay area is not that bad, but it is a full day event. Here is a webcam of the beach, usually, I check it before I hit the road. http://www.stagecoach-wireless.com/Came ... H/Pos1.htm |

I am going to look into it this weekend. Do you keep your boat covered? How hard is it for you to launch? Paul |

pejnielsen wrote: Do you keep your boat covered? Yes. A couple of cheap tarps with bungee cords is just perfect. pejnielsen wrote: How hard is it for you to launch? there are 2 issues here: - Moving the boat on the beach. Because of the weight, it is a challenge, but there is always someone to help pushing. - Launching through the surf. You get used to it. These days, I tend to launch through the harbor ramp instead, but it depends on the conditions. The great thing about SantaCruz is that fleet 240 is very active, and for that alone it is worth it. |

The new boat... Are the tramps a little sun damaged? Is there a funky cotter pin holding on the bob? Galvy trailer, single rollers? 2003? Let me know and I'll get them connected with you. J |

I'll check it out. I'm coming down this weekend to check the idea out of putting my boat down there. Redwood City is just taking too long. |
