Post subject:  easing the main in heavy winds

I was out last weekend and had a hard time uncleating the mainsheet to ease the main in puffs. The cleat seems backwards as it is easy to cleat, but hard to uncleat. Any advice.

Thanks

You can change the angle at which the cleat is positioned. You may want to lift the sheet to cleat. This also makes the line pop out easier. If you angle the cleat high enough... the sheet will "un-cleat" when you pull the sheet in.
