I would like to know how everyone covers their Getaway. I store mine on a trailer with the mast up. The wings, trapeze, and stays make it a pain to cover. Any ideas I would love to hear your suggestions. I just want to keep it dry and the UV rays off of it. |

a couple of tarps attache with bungee cords work fine for me. 1 8x10 to cover the main tramp. 1 8x6 to cover the front. I just detach the trapeze, since they are in the way. |

I do the same thing with the tarps, silver side up to reflect heat. We have had extemely wet weather this year, so I cut slots in the tarps at the low spots for drainage. Has worked well so far. |

Also, last year I used the cheap blue tarp, and while it did the job, UV still when through. This year I switched to UV resistant tarps, slightly thicker and more expensive. |

I bought one those cheap portable single car garage's, its just long enough to back the whole boat and trailer into. Best thing it was only 149 bucks at costco. |

Well after 6 years of letting my getaway sit uncovered in the sun in Florida, the covers on the wings are deteriorating (and I replaced the front tramp once about 2 years ago). Before I replace the wing covers, I was wondering if anyone had tried anything different for covering the wings, such as EVA foam glued to the wings. I think this is the type of foam used for the "seats" on the Hobie Wave and it is also used as a non-skid deck on some windsurfers. If I go this route, any idea of where to buy this stuff? Quick internet search yielded a supplier from Taiwan, but minimum order is one full 20' shipping container. Cheers, paul |

I wrap each wing with 2 of the large contractor trash bags from the home depot, these are heavy duty bags and have lasted all season long. I keep the bags secured to the wings by wraping them with some nylon rope. This has worked very well for me this season. It's not very pretty but it works. I will post a photo when I get up to put my boat away for the season. |

why don't you just take the two large Phillips screws out from each end of the wings that mount to the adjustable supports and swing the wings down beside the hauls this will allow on large tarp to cover the hole cat ,and if your trailer has a forward and rear mast support you can use the mast to tent the tarp over the cat hauls ,the tarp sides will be sloped sloped for the snow and rain slide off. I think the tarp I used is heavy duty silver 24'x12' and 20 x long rubber truck bungees. This worked great for three seasons so far. |
