Okay, so there has been a lot of talk and fiddling with spinnakers for the getaway. After much looking at the new hobie pearl(which i think is an awesome boat),what about someone fitting the same sort of roller furling gennaker system to a getaway? This would make life so much simpler on the getaway with maximum fun to boot!Food for thought mr miller?Surely this would be simpler to fit than a spinnaker.

Ok great idea, one drawback is that there is no where to mount blocks farther back on the boat. If you get it figgered out signe me up, I want one. :D

Think ive got it figured! The blocks dont need to go further aft for the sheets, just like the pearl they could be mounted on to beam near the jib cleats. This means the spinnaker pole is long like on the pearl. As far as the gennaker goes simply buy the one for the pearl and get it cut down to size!Surely life can be this simple!Wonder if i should patent my idea?
Tasmania's only getaway sailor.
By the way roy,i apologize for my comment on the wings i made some time ago about being useless.I should have said not useful for my purpose, but they are great for relaxation and fun.
In my opinion the getaway is the best all round 16 footer ever made,it's a credit to the hobie design team.
