Been trying to come up with a name for my Getaway. Bought it used (it's an '03 I think) at the end of last summer. Want to name it before next season. So far, my best ideas are "Cheshire Cat" (I live in Cheshire, connecticut and it's a CATamaran) and "Whirlwind" since whenever my family and I go somewhere, it's like a tornado (or whirlwind) came through the place after we leave (I have 3 boys, age 2, 8 and 12). I've tried coming up with something to do with my boys names or my wife ("Lady D" for my wife Denise, aka Dee) but she doesn't want it named after her. My boys names are Karl, Drew, and Daniel. I came up with Kadreda but not sure I like it. Anyone have any suggestions. Vote on your favorite of the ones I came up with. Also, I'd like to hear what your boat is named and what it means.

Cheshire Cat
Whirlwind
Lady D
Kadreda

Not that it makes any difference (it is your boat and YOU get to name it), and something that you may already know or have heard of...there is a catamaran manufactured by International Fiberglass that goes by the model name of Cheshire Cat.

Naming your cat can sometimes take a while, it took me over a month to come up with "Wife's Helper" I herd it from a cab driver one night coming home from the bar ,it's what he called his mistress. You will no right away when you have the name for your cat , maybe you can combine something you said with your wife's name "Dwister" you said it's like a tornado every time your out. Not sure if your wife will like the name though ,does she has a bad temper? or maybe "Dee-Light" could work to, hope this helps .

DAniel, KArl, DREw = DA KADRE as in "The Cadre"

we've named ours "Sandy Bottoms" for the triple pun that works in rock-free barnegat bay.

I'm going to call my new Tiger "ill tempered sea bass, with fricking lazer beams"

either that or "Shart infested waters"

that's how I roll. :)

I like names that are a play with words. I haven't come up with an official name yet but since I am an accountant I am trying to find something like Sails Revenue or something similar.

My son was really into Star Wars when we bought our Getaway in '03 and he named the boat "Hobie-Wan Kenobi"
