Nice breezes on Lake Michigan this past Fathers Day..... but a tiller tendon broke on my 2005 Getaway and ruined my sailing day. Is anyone familiar with the replacement part for the tendon which connects the tiller to the crossbar? The parts list shows parts 1957 and 1956 "club tiller connector" replacement for the tendon. Will I need some type of rivit tool? Are the older tendons still available?

Tendon replacements are stronger. We went to a white fiber reinforced tendon.

For new boats we are using the #1957 style. That would be an excellent choice.

Thanks for the photo Matt. Can I use the 1957 on my pre-ez-loc tiller and crossarm? Will I need a special rivet tool?

You do need a rivet tool. You can get one at Home Depot / Lowes type places. Most commonly these are for aluminum, but if you can muster the grip strength, they will pop stainless rivets.

This will work on EZ loc or previous rudder systems.
