Post subject:  Getting Back Into Sailing/Setup Time

After an 8 year hiatus, I'm looking to get the family back into sailing. I now have two children (7 & 5) and have pretty much decided the Getaway is the correct boat. I was originally looking at a used 18SX with wings, but I think it would be too much boat right now. I rented a Getaway this past weekend and was quite impressed with the overall capabilities. The kids (and wife) enjoyed hanging out on the front tramp as we cruised around Pensacola Beach.

What is the typical setup time from trailer to sail for the Getaway (2 people)?

If it takes longer than 30 minutes - you are letting your wife help too much.

The Getaway is designed as a boat that is easy to set up, simple and safe to sail. Very tough - very forgiving - a great family boat!

Easy Easy Easy! about 20 minutes including time it takes to get from parking area across the beach and into the water. However kids usualy need to hit the head, and left their sunglasses in the care and one is out on the rocks etc. the easy part is rigging the boat!
