Post subject:  jib line tangle help

We have noticed that even when using the tangle preventer bungie that the jib lines can still get caught under the mast base. This weekend we found a way to prevent this from happening. Thought some of you might be interested in it.

After hoisting up the main simply take the excess halyard line from the cleat and run it to the middle of the front crossbar and tie it off. This line will help to guide jib lines keeping them elevated above the mast base and further preventing a tangle under the base. It does not have to be tight at all, just drape it up there and loop around crossbar. The halyard line will interfere with passenger space on the front tramp, but it goes right down the middle so it's not too bad.
