Could someone kindly offer the proper technique to rig the furler and jib on a 2012 Getaway? I am fine with the top portion attached to the tang. Just having difficulty figuring out the furler to the forestay. Does the shackle go through the bottom of the jib or is it used just to attach the furler to the forestay? I have a mast stepper 3 as well so my furler has the extension coming out the bottom. Thank you! Bill |

Hard to tell if the shackle is going through the end of the jib or are they expecting you to tie it? Easy enough to attach the forestay to the furler. On my 18 I had a line to tighten the luff. Any other advice is welcomed. A picture would be great as well! Bill |

I use a shackle to connect the chain plate to the end of the jib forestay wire, but I suppose some might use a Clevis pins. Then, to connect to chain plate to the furler drum, use a Clevis pin....but I think you already knew that. As far as taking out the luff, I find that I haven't had to do that on my jib- but I am knew to Hobie Getaway sailing. |
