Hi folks, I've just bought a 2002 Getaway from a friend with the older, cam-style rudders. Unlike others in the forum, I have no problems with the rudders locking/un-locking. What I do have is some serious weather helm, which I think is due to the rudders being out of alignment (well, in fact, I am sure they are out of alignment, just not sure if this is the total cause of the weather helm). The question is: how do you adjust the alignment of these rudders? On my old Hobie 18, the tiller/crossbar rig was adjustable, so you could angle the rudders to your liking. On the Getaway, the tiller/crossbar rig is fixed. Any tips would be appreciated. |

Check to see if you have reversed the rudders left to right. Would cause a LOT of toe-out. |

Aren't the rudders on the newer Getaways reversible? |

Quote: just bought a 2002 Correct EZ Loc is symmetrical (production started 2004-05). Older ones with aluminum castings could get reversed (tiller arm bend for Ackerman). |
