just bought a getaway that has been sitting for a few years... the rudder system is in great shape however one side seems to have a lot of resistance moving rudder up and down... is it possible to lubricate the moving parts or should I just loosen the bolts off a bit? what is the suggested practice to make sure the rudder system transitions smoothly from the up/locked to down position?

I had a problem with my rudders being too loose, they kept popping up when I gained speed. I ended up tightening the bolt on each rudder 1 full turn. There is a ez lock PDF file I found searching the web that explains it. I would imagine 1 turn counterclockwise would loosen them enough. You would have to test it out.
