Post subject:  Aft Cross bar is loose in Stbd. socket

I was sailing in some chop yesterday and I heard an unusual clunk going on. It sounded just like a loose dagger board in a slot on a Nacra 5.2 (I had one previous to the Getaway). I discovered that the aft cross bar was working in it's socket. I understand that the bar is seated in it's socket and the trampoline provides the compressive force to lock it in.
Before I start taking things apart I wanted to seek advice on what could be the reason for this. Do I need to tension up my tramp lacing? Seems tight enough already. This is a 2011 boat in good shape.

Wave and Getaway designs are not tight like other cats where beams are bolted tightly to the hull. There will always be some movement. Unless there is cracking around the sleeve... non-issue. Tighten the trampolines and keep the rig snug.

You're right, the tramps weren't as tight as I had thought - I got a lot of slack out of them yesterday after reading your reply.

The stbd. stop plate on the underside of the aft cross arm had a small gap between the hull so I loosened up the phillips screws on the forward arm, took up tension on the aft tramp lacing, then forward tramp lacing, then re-tightened the phillips screws.

Thanks again
