Post subject: | Broken comp tip |
It's been a while since I've been here and need a little help last weekend I snapped off the base of the comp tip when trying to right the mast . The brake is clean and the tapered part of the comp tip is still clued in the end aluminum .Has any one successfully repaired this buy using a piece of wood ,haveing it milled on one end so that it fits inside the comp tip and the other end becomes the piece that fits in the mast . Or does any one have a line on a used comp tip for sale a new one is out of my price range right know and am worried the getaway won't get sailed this summer. |

My comp tip has started to develop cracks around the joint with the aluminum section - - any suggestion? I do not store the mast stepped, and it's under cover when not being sailed. Boat is a 2003. Hobie Rep - - any suggestion? Frank |
