Post subject: | Tire Pressure |
I'm wondering where I should set my trailer tire pressures. The guys I've talked to say 50 PSI, but that seems stiff to me for a light boat. I'd like to know what people on this forum suggest. |

Look at the tire. It should list a pressure range. |

The "Maximum Pressure" is 50 PSI, but I'm sure the trailer is built to hold a much heavier boat than the Getaway. That's why I'm wondering if a lower pressure would be appropriate in this case to compensate for the lighter boat. |

Yes, max pressure is for maximum load. My truck tires say max 45 lbs, but everything I have read says refer to the vehicle manufacturers pressure specifications. That says 29 lbs I believe... a big difference. Proof is in the shape of the tire I think. If mushroomed out... you need more pressure. |
