I have a Genesis Trailer (2013) and I have noticed that the lights keep burning out, I am sure it has something to do with water getting in the lens case. I noticed that water level was to the top of lens case last year, so I drilled a hole in each case so that the water could drain out. I also unplug them every time I submerge the trailer at the boat ramp. They keep burning out, despite my efforts. Anybody come up with a solution to this? Thanks! |

Make sure you unplug the lights when backing into the water. If water is getting in, cold water hot bulb (brake lights) and poof! Only other solution is replace with a sealed light fixture. |

Yep, LEDs are quite inexpensive nowadays and since they are sealed in epoxy, you can submerge without issue... even plugged in. Most manufacturers offer identical lights in incandescent and LED, so bolt patterns for mounting are identical. |

Another option is to not submerge the trailer lights. I've had my getaway for 6 years and never had to dunk the trailer lights. I stop when the tires just touch the water (keeps my wheel bearings water free also) but the lights are a few inches above the water. Lift the bows while standing on the trailer to get it up on the bunk boards. Boat is light enough to pull up half way manually and then I winch the rest of the way up. |

I concur with going LED. I recently rewired my whole trailer using a $60 kit from Bass Pro Shops. Super easy. |
