I would recommend using the stock Hobie pieces for all these ideas but have seen D shackles used for slug slides. |

You don't need to remove the front cross bar. Simply remove the bow lacing and slide the tramp aft until it is out of the side channels. Then slide it sideways out of the mid cross bar channel. Then repeat the process in reverse to install the new tramp. |

I have been looking to replace my front tramp (or what's left of it) as well. One company I found seems to supply several different websites, so I figured I'd go to the source. I'm concerned about many of the aftermarket tramps that are not "nets" and more like the main tramp. I can see a tight weave trampoline causing a pitchpole if the bow spreader buries itself in a wave. So on this site, I'm considering one of the mesh or net options. https://www.multihullnets.com/Prices/Ne ... ber=H-GTWF Another site I found doesn't make a Getaway tramp specifically, but a reasonably facsimile can be fabricated. If I go with this option (which is what I'm leaning toward for about $250), I will likely have them make it about an inch short all around and then use sail slugs (like on the front of the stock tramp) on the sides and rear to attach it. I would be a little leery about using the sail slugs on the side rail rather than bolt rope. Only because the rail mounts to the plastic hull and the pressure pulling on the rail when someone is one it, would be pin pointed to the location of each slug rather than spread out more evenly by the rope. The could possibly start working areas of the rail loose? I'm not sure but that's my take on it. |
