the fabric on the wings of my Getaway is on its last legs. Seems like they would be easy to make if you have the right fabric. Has anyone fabricated their own wing covers and if so, what material did you use? how did it work out? they have some very good advice on SailRite.com with instructions for sewing your own trampoline. they also sell trampoline material, but its black and seems like it would get too hot for sitting on. I was thinking about using this stuff called "Textilene Sunsure". but don't want to reinvent the wheel if its already been done. |

Hard to believe it is anything more that discoloration. There are no loads on these covers. Hobie trampolines typically last decades. 37971058 WING COVER GETAWAY TURQ MSH PR. ($190 USA / USD 2016) |

You could make a cover from almost any outdoor fabric like sunbrella. But you have to edge it and set bunches of grommets and then relace (you don't have to use the nice bungie stuff). But you would need a good sewing machine, seamstick, grommet setter, yadda yadda. I think the $190 that Hobie charges is a bargain since it will cost you about a man-week of labor. |
