Hi all, I am revising the main far from the hobie and I had to remove quickly all af the battens ropes. Any one can tell me the aroximate lenght to replace them? I dont have the batens here to mesasure them. Should they be elastic? Kind regards |

In any event, they should not be elastic. String diameter should closely match the groove cut into the batten ends. Length is only about 60 cm. each. I am not sure, though, that Hobie used the same batten system on the Getaway in EU as in USA. So might want to check with a EU dealer. There is probably a Hobie part number. |

Yes that was the case! I was so in a hurry to catch a plane that I had to cut them all instead of untie them. My hobie is USA manufactured. Actually I had some trouble with some spare partes that came from Europe. Mast ball for example and trapeze wires lenght. Anyway if someone has the main close and can send the mesure will be apreciated. I believe 60 cm is deffietly too much. Probably 20 will make it. If I dont get the data I will leave them long and adjust when I come back to the battens. It was not to waste rope. |

Matt probably knows the part numbers. If push comes to shove you can probably use whipping line available at most marine supply places. One spool for about $5 US should be sufficient. |
