Is there a part number and/or retailer that sells the yellow spinnaker sheets that come with the stock Hobie Getaway Spinnaker kit. After several years of trips to the keys, we’ve finally worn through our spinnaker sheets. We’re quite partial to the stock yellow/black lines and would like to purchase the exact same stock line for our gorgeous Hobie Getaway with yellow spinnaker.

Second question, does anyone know the length of the line. Part of our line was lost/disentegrated. |

Hey CC...if you don't get any responses for the "real deal" you can get 1/4" yacht braid line which will do the job. I had too much with 50 feet of line, but that is a convenient length to buy...Basically you just need enough to go around the boat. I did a quick check and CBKnot has yellow by the foot 27cents a foot. https://cbknot.com/cbknot-double-braid- ... -the-foot/ BTW, if 50 feet is not long enough by a little, you can easily make a short length of dyneema or something to extend the clew, actually makes gybing easier since it usually is easier to go around the jib that way. |

Not yacht braid.... go Robbline or Sta Set or Salsa....one of the 'modern' lines. Easier on the hands, works better, and yes, it is more expensive but worth every penny. The H16 Spinnaker Guide tells me 8mm x 12 m...or in the US, that is 39.4 feet. |

Not worth the extra expense on a Getaway, John; boat won't go any faster and expensive lines won't last any longer. One of the nice things about a Getaway is you don't need high tech anything. Cheap as boats go. |

Thank you, and yes, hi-tech lines are more costly. However, they run through the blocks easier, they float, they tangle less, and they are easier on the hands. Faster?...only if you are running a WildCat....my SX18 is like me, old heavy and slow.... |

Ah, I see...I use sailing gloves. Salsa is nice if you are barehanded. Truthfully, I haven't noticed any difference in how they go through blocks, but then I usually have slightly oversize blocks so it is a non issue. Yah, they float...but why are they in the water? The downside of high tech lines is they don't hold in cleats as easily--but salsa is engineered to be fuzzy so I can understand your preference...but 27cents a foot is hard to beat.

Thanks for the info and length! We’re really looking for an exact or close replacement to that stock yellow line. If I knew the conpany Hobie buy’s it from we could just get it there since there doesnt seem to be a part number for it. |
