Hi all, A mate's 2004 Getaway has a split in the hull behind the rear beam. He got it plastic welded but it split again. Was thinking of add a 5inch round hatch on top of hull roughly 8 inches behind the beam and using that to access the inside of hull to then: Add aluminium or plastic plates with masses of something like Loctite PL PRemium to hold plate in place, then filling the crack with same. I would also add an aluminium Round plate (in halves) under the hatch to strengthen that. He cant afford new hulls and there are no spare old ones in Australia. Any thoughts at all? Also has anyone tried this glue option.. https://www.permabond.com/2015/03/31/pr ... yethylene/ thanks J |

i would also bolt the plate, through the hull with carriage head bolts. |

Which hull? Port or starboard? I have a spare port hull if you're interested? I'm in Tasmania so freight might be costly. |

Waters a bit cold for me, but love to sail with you next time I'm visiting.. Offer open other way if you like. I'm in Brissie. |

No worries.. Yes, weather is a little warmer in Brisbane but summer sailing in Tassie is still great! |
