Post subject:  Getaway Fresh Water Performance

As anyone noticed a significant difference in performance of the Getaway in fresh water as compared to saltwater? I have sailed both the Getaway and Wave in salt water many times and both performed well. When I sail the Wave in fresh water the performance is less impressive whether sailing single handed or double handed (same crew).

Thank you!

Paul

Salt water will float the boats higher. Less boat in the water is faster.

Dense moist sea air can have more power per MPH than dry inland air too.

Wow! I never thought of that. More HP per MPH, interesting.

Thanks for the responses. My concern is based on the dramatic difference I felt sailing a Wave on freshwater compared to saltwater. Thanks again.
