Finally got our new-to-us Getaway on the water this weekend! It came mastless and jibless so I picked up a used 16 (VERY affordably!), put the Hobie 17 mast step that came with the Getaway on the 16 mast along with the 16 jib (minus the battens). Once we shortened the shrouds to the proper length, (good thing I brought the cable cutting and swaging tools to the lake), off we went! What a GREAT BOAT! Sailed beautifully and we even got a hull out of the water for a bit of flying! Still need to do a few tweaks to the rig and can't wait to get out soon the water again! Looking into uploading photos now. |
