I acquired a 2013 Getaway and when assembling the front trampoline, I realized that the plastic guide inside that holds the trampoline to the guide has disintegrated, and is no longer properly attached. I thought about replacing the plastic material (that is disintegrating) by a cable or rope, but I'm having a lot of difficulty in removing the original material, because it only comes out in lint. Does anyone have a suggestion?

The replacement parts are 96280000 SLUG SLIDE 5/16" NYLON

You would have to take the boat apart to access the track.

Hi Matt, thanks for your answer, but I think that I wasn't clear on my post.
The problem is in the plastic profile that is inserted on the side edges of the tramp, that holds the tramp into the side tracks. It seems like a twisted plastic white rope. This material is disintegrating and there is no way to get it out from inside the tramp. Therefore I'm looking for a an advice on how I can put another rope inside.

Ahhh... Never heard of that happening. Maybe, if just at the ends, you can shove some plastic rod in to bulk it up.

Otherwise... maybe a sail loft or upholstery shop could sew a new rope bead on to the trampoline.

I'm, don't mean to hijack the thread, but there LOOKS like something clever is going on here. Is that a mast extrusion being used there that doubles for cross beams? Those ARE sail slugs after all...

Clever, very clever use of materials. Means you have a canvass for modifications, like adding cam cleats, blocks, etc.

Yes, the forward spreader is the H14 mast/pylon extrusion.

Yes. That's why it is sturdy enough to fly (tack) a small spinnaker to it so you don't need a ginormous additional pole for a bowsprit. Worked out well.

When I was assembling mine I had similar issues with the rear boltrope. Fortunately for me, the rope insert came out smoothly (it hadn't disintegrated enough to keep from being pulled out). I replaced with a skinny pultruded epoxy rod....you might be able to use a similar rod to push out the lint. But if that doesn't work, you'll have to cut it off and replace with a new boltrope or sew on slugs or get a new front tramp. If you choose to use slugs, I suggest the allslip ones instead of the nylon white ones. They are longer and they don't break as easily--yah, they are more expensive.

The Slug Slides on my 2004 Getaway are looking a little worse for wear. It’s just the white nylon. I’m replacing the forward tramp right now and wondering if I should replace the Slug Slides along with it?

I’m guessing that it is not just the white nylon holding them into the cross bar. I’m fine with how they look, but want to make sure its not a structural issue for my forward tramp.
