| Post subject: | Getaway or Weta trimaran : which is the dryer ? |
I am looking for my next boat. After a try, the Tandem Island has been ruled out (not fun enough). I have tried the Weta, which is really fun and quite comfortable (at least much more than the HC 16 I usually sail on), but very wet (tropical water temperature not being an issue here). I wil not be able to try the Getaway for there are none present here in Tahiti. I intend to sail with wife and kids (all non-sailors except but one - older son - who is a hard-core sailor). Between those two, which one is the most comfortable and the dryest ? I plan to buy a new Getaway with wings Thank you in advance. |

Winged cats are the bees knees. Way drier and more comfortable than a H16. The wings also make the cat very spacious. |

I know nothing about the Weta. My Getaway is pretty dry. The forward tramp is pretty wet, but sitting on the wings keeps everything but your legs from getting splashed, unless it's a really wild and windy day. What's the capacity of the Weta? The Getaway is rated for 6 adults or 900 pounds. I've had 4 adults and 3 smaller kids on it, with plenty of room for all, and little loss of performance. |

I think TP answered it! I didn't know Weta's are that small. Yeah, the Getaway has a lot more room, and is much dryer. |
