Post subject: | Rigging Question |
I just bought a brand new Hobie getaway and I have a rigging question that does not seem to be covered in the manual. About a foot from the base of the mast is a short bungie cord with two plastic hooks. What is the purpose of this bungie and where to the hooks attach. My guess is that it attaches to the loops where the jib sheet fastens to the middle cross beam and the purpose is to help keep the jib sheets from getting near the base of the mast? |

You nailed it. It's official name is "jib tangle preventer". |

With a non overlapping jib, it really isn't very useful. No harm in it, though. |

It can help prevent tangling of the jib sheets. |
