| Post subject: | Rudder storage on trailer - 2007 Getaway |
It was recommended, by the previous owner, to remove the rudders, while towing, to reduce stress to the hulls and pintles. I would like to have a place, on the trailer to put the rudders and not have so many items to load in the vehicle. Has anyone come up with good ideas to share? |

Do you have the pins installed to hold them in the up position (assuming ez loc rudders)? If you install them prior to hauling, you should be fine without taking them off, there really isn't a lot of weight although it can jounce around on a pothole filled roadway. I never worried about it and left them on. Basically, what conditions are the roads you travel and how long is the commute to the water? |

I have a toy box/catbox/whatever you call it on the trailer for the rudders, tiller, sail and mast stepper. Where do you carry your sail when trailering? |

They are EZ loc with pin. We sometimes tow to beach, so it’s a 5 hour drive. |

The toy boxes are cool but expensive. Could make a wood box or even just plywood platform and tie everything down on that. Steve C. |
