Hello All,

Any major differences between an 2011 and 2019? I found a used 2011 and it appears in decent shape.

Thanks in advance and happy holidays all!

Best,
Neil

Biggest difference visually is the bows on the floats are raked back on the 2019. I had a 2011; really good boat. I wouldn't expect anything but age to be a major difference other than the raked back bows.

Thanks for the reply. I went to check out the boat yesterday. He is asking $4k but the main sail, jib and trampoline will probably need replaced as they were the originals and he left the boat out in the water most summers with sails on. The kick-up rudders look to be a little crusty (due to the fact the boat was tied to his dock during Summer) but the bottom of the hulls look in good shape. Are the rudders pretty easy to clean and get working again? Also, there is no trailer.

Any other possible issues I should look for?

Best,
Neil

Pressure washer will clean the hulls and rudders really easily; the few remaining spots can be buffed out with those white scrubby things (Magic eraser-but don't buy them locally, get from ebay China-100 for 5 bucks or less).

Check the mast comp tip. Lots of issues with that piece of "gear". Plan on replacing the shrouds and forestay. Check the jib furler.

Does it have the wings (bench seats)? If not, he's asking too much money.

Ensure no cracks in the hulls where the beams attach to the floats.

Check out trailer prices if you need a trailer, but if you are just going to keep it at the lake or whatever, you can rent a Uhaul to get it where it needs to be. Takes an afternoon to disassemble and reassemble.

Thanks this is very helpful! Ill have to go back and check for cracks where the beams attach.

Also, he is not throwing in the wings. I think for the amount of replacements Ill have to do that $1.5K might do the trick. $2k would be the top as Ill want to replace all the running lines as well.

Thanks again!

I don't know if Miami is too far for you to check this guy out.
