Hi team-

I bought a 2006 getaway, 3rd owner. I've had her out a few times, and had a great time. Took down the mast today, as we live on a lake so I kept her rigged. I noticed this major crack in the comptip, through the fiberglass, as well as hairlines throughout the comptip. My brain says bite the bullet and buy a new comptip, if not a new mast entirely, but I wanted to see if y'all had any advice.

I've poked around the forums, and the non-replacement solution that I could come up with is drill out the mast head and halyard lock, cut off the broken portion, and reattach the mast head and lock. This would leave me with a 6-7" shorter mast, but I'm not racing her, so I'm not stressed.

It looks like the crack started around the rivet and got worse, is this a sign of water in the mast freezing and expanding over the winter?

It may be frozen water expansion especially if the mast was stored on that side down over the winter. That crack doesn't look all that bad to me, so I'd try a repair personally. Drill out the rivet. Clean up the crack with your dremel and sand the repair area to remove any paint. Thickened Epoxy to fill the crack. Couple layers of fiberglass E tape. Sand and paint.
