| Post subject: | Top Swivel Broke on Forestay in Zero Wind |
Hello, My 2020 Hobie Getaway's top swivel broke while sitting in no wind. The mast came down on my guests but luckily the battens in the main sail slowed the collapse. This was pretty unpleasant... Does anyone have any tips on what to do other than replace it and move on? There was a recall on the swivels in 2017 (Ronstan part), so VERY surprised a 2020 would fail. They completely redesigned this part. Get the broken parts back to your dealer for review. I might be able to tell what happened if you can get your images to post. Has to be on a public server to post here. |
