Post subject:  reboarding suggestions

Sailed getaway for the first time recently . My wife and I got out in wind gusts that resulted in a capsize. We finally righted it but our biggest challenge was getting back on the tramp. I've sailed 16's and 18's and had no problems remounting but the Getaway hulls are are much higher above the water line and have little to grab onto . The forward tramp does't make things any easier . Do any of you Getaway sailors have suggestions ??Thanks

I saw where someone used a line, like the righting line or something and used it like a step/loop but can't for the life of me remember how. It was attached on two points on the boat and was simply a step.

The previous owner of my boat has a rope on the front crossbar that is normally used for winching. It makes a triangle from where the hulls meet the crossbar, and hangs about three feet down in the center. It makes a good winch point, as well as step ladder to re-board.

When underway, the rope is tucked under the furler's stays.
