Hi guys, I have a Hobie Getaway which I have ownedfor a little over 20 years. It's a great boat and I really enjoy sailing it (on a lake in CT). Recently however my bad back acts up every time I get on the boat, either sailing it or even just doing a repair (just installed a new rear tramp). Can anyone suggest a fix of some kind? I'm an experience sailor/captain but I'm almost 70 and my back is really feeling it. Is there anyway to install some kind of seat (other than the wings). Maybe a captain's chair? Any ideas welcome, thanks. -Al |

Thank you! I purchased two canoe seat backers to mount on the Getaway wings as you suggested. It definitely helps, but then there are also always those moments on a sailboat when you have to move suddenly across the boat to address a given situation. Wondering if you can post a picture or describe how you attached the canoe seats? I assume they have webbing. Would be interested in putting webbing all along the wing. I am new to the forum and considering getting a getaway. |

I see the llbean seat suggested Is there a full webbing option between the tramp and the wings? |
