The wire that pulls the job up broke I can’t find part/diagrams… I actually wonder if my job was rigged with normal parts It is a cable that goes into the jib and at the top goes through a circle and then tied to a small shackle that is fixed at the top of the jib At the bottom is tied to a shackle that is tied to a small rope to be pulled Are there any videos/diagrams/pictures/instructions to know where to get the cable that goes into the jib? |

That is not a standard setup for the Getaway. The Getaway has a fixed forestay in the jib luff and the jib stays up when the mast is up. Try looking at the Hobie 18 and 17 Sport diagrams for reference on how the hoisting jib works. https://www.hobie.com/support/ |

Very helpful thank you I think I have the standard set up (fixed furling jib)— I think I am looking for the “jib halyard wire”. Mine broke . What is the part number of the jib halyard wire for me to order a new one? |

There is no halyard in the stock Getaway. The jib is affixed to the forestay top and bottom. Whe you step the mast the jib is furled around the forestay already. |

There is a cable that is fixed at the bottom, goes through a pocket in the jib , rotates around a pulley at the top and then is tied to a shackle that is tied to the top of the jib… Is this standard design? |

Got it I officially have a boat with a non- standard set up It seems from the diagram that I can simply have a rope that ties the top of the jib to the shackle that holds the top of the forestay … is it right? |

A very small diameter line to fit in the luff pocket as you raise the sail you zip the pocket closed. |
