I sail in salt water most of the time. I always rinse off the boat, all the equipment and the sails after each time on the water. I hang the sails horizontally between trees in my yard. After they dry, I roll them up. My neighbors do NOT think this is cool. I am being told it is not necessary to rinse them EVERY time out, if at all.

What does Hobie recommend? What do the rest of you do?

Thanks in advance -

I rarely rinsed my sails. Worst case is a wet (fresh water) sail being stored away. That can mildew.

I wash my sails down about every 2 weeks....we're in salt water though...the boat is trailered and so the entire boat is given a good washing after every sail.
