Just watched the Getaway video again. I noticed the sailing shots had the Getaway with the front tramp and without. What are the pro's and con's of one or the other? I also noticed that most of the good video was of singlehanded sailing. The crew was probably too worn out from stepping the mast. ![]() Bill |

Flat water, a lazy sailing day, or lots of kids, use the front tramp. If the chop or surf is more than 12", (one foot), lose the tramp. Convenience means more options and decisions. Trailering a H18, we can rig the WHOLE boat in under 20 minutes, and our mast is waaaaaay longer than yours. Practice makes for sore hands, yes, but once perfected, should be a no-brainer. |
