I hate to be the first to raise the spector of the winter season coming, but does anyone have thoughts on storing the Getaway outside in the winter? I am in Wisconsin and we get subzero temps regularly and sometimes lots of snow (had 4 feet standing in my yard at one time last winter). How does the getaway hold up in such conditions? I have a friend who might let me keep it in a warehouse of his but that is not a sure thing and I am wondering whether to spring for the storage. (Yes, I am that cheap.) Thanks. |

Make sure there is no water in the hulls and take off all the lines, if it was my boat i would remove the tramp to keep snow off it because a large amount of snow on the tramp puts alot of stress on it and can shorten the life of it. Other than that, maybe hang the mast under the awning of your house, sails under the bed, and I always wash all the lines in the washer at the end of the season then spend a cold winter night un-tangling all of them. |

Do you wash your lines with or without detergent? |

Without, I am kinda afraid to use detergent, I just don't know what it would do to them |
