I have a 2008 Hobie Club Wave with a traveler & Jib Kit. I've noticed there is actually a bit of Lee helm when sailing which is a bit concerning especially during strong gusts. I have adjusted the rake of the mast back a bit but I'm still getting some Lee helm. I'm only two slots away from the bottom positions on the shroud adjusters. I assume the jib kit plays a part here putting more force on the front of the boat. besides continuing to push the mast rake back is there any other possibilities to reduce lee helm? Ideally a touch of weather helm is the desired balance correct?

Same on both tacks? If rudders are warped you can feel lee on one tack and weather on the other. Try kicking up one rudder to narrow it down.

You know what I thought I was crazy but I did think I was getting weather helm on a port track and lee helm on a starboard. I didn't know rudders could cause that. They don't look warped but I was actually sailing in some pretty shallow waters and the rudders did occasionally catch the bottom and kick up a bit. I would bet that's the culprit. Thanks for the info Matt! Next time I head out I'll be sure to check the rudders if I feel Lee Helm again.

Check the foil shape to see if one side is flatter maybe. Could be filled with Bondo to reshape if needed.
