OK, drove to Houston area this weekend (5hr ride one-way for me) to pick up the wave. Looks great, nice trailer too.

Fitting her into the garage was a little hassle. I had to take the mast off the cradle and take it apart, the untie the boat and slide it foward on the trailer, push it all the way against the back wall and she fits with about 1'' to spare 8)

I have not had the chance to sail her yet - however, Wednesday is forcast to be 10-15 w/ gusts to 25 - is that too much for my first time on the wave, or should I wait for a calmer day?

Also, is it safe for me to get on top of the boat while its on the trailer? I weigh 225lbs and am concerned about the pressure on the hulls where it touches the rollers - this wont mess up the hulls will it?

Next, where do you tie a bow line - you know, a line that I can use to tie to docks and whatnot?

Congratulations on your new toy, and welcome to the Wave family! I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as we all do.

The 10-15 part of the wind won't be a problem; the 25 gusts may give you the opportunity to practice righting your boat. :o If you take another person on board to help hold it down, you should be okay; but you might want a calmer day for your "shake-down cruise" just in case things aren't as secure as they should be.

The boat should be fine to climb on while on the trailer, but I'll let someone else confirm or refute this.

For a bow painter, I took a rope and tied a small loop around my righting line (which is secured to each end of the front crossbar), so the righting line makes a "bridle" to the sturdiest parts of the boat. I don't use it to tie to a pier, since I launch off the shore; but I keep it hanked up on the tramp, in case I ever need a tow in. The loop lets me slide it to the side when not needed. A handier method for just holding it to the dock might be to clip a carbiner to the bridle shackle and tie your painter to that.

Ah, lose weight! No, no, just kidding. Actually, I weigh I am 6' and and 225 lbs too. I try not to jump up and down on the tramp! I try to keep things to a minimum -- like only mast raising -- when it is on the trailer.

If you have rollers on the trailer instead of flat rubber mats/pads, that might make a smaller contact point on the hull and be something to watch.

I don't think the boat will suffer with you on it any way you do it, but, use caution and go lightly! :wink:
