Post subject:  camping with the Wave this week

OK, I took my new Wave to Lake Ouachita in Arkansas this week. My amigo came too and we set out for a camping adventure. We loaded all the necessary camping goodies into my canoe, tethered the canoe to the Wave and let the wind carry us around.

I know....pics or it didnt happen. Well this time I have the pics and I am working on hosting them and will share soon.

Since I am still on vacation, I will share more thoughts and pics a little later.

This is the canoe empty as a test. Fully loaded canoe should be towed slow - no more than 10mph winds - we almost flipped it once because the wind had built. It tends to fishtail when towed.

I will add more, when I have them. My crew used his ipod to take the pictures and he has not sent them all to me.

Post subject:  great views

Hey Scuzzy! Hoping we'll see your famousness at HAVAMEGA next November at Lake Havasu. We've billed the Wave first on the roster of Hobies, and it would be great to see you there, as few have better shared their enthusiasm for this great class of catamarans. Look forward to meeting you and yours. See Havamega.com and RSVP please.

Ouch, the drive from Louisiana to California would be a killer. I would love to attend - somebody has to finish last and I'm pretty good at that role :P

I am thinking of running the texas200 on the Wave next time it happens. texas200.com for more info.

Well, we'll have to see how the charter situation goes, and then maybe you can fly in.

OK, I got the last two pictures from my friend's iphone.

One more pic of me skippering and another towing the canoe full of camping gear. I think you can see in the picture that it was towing crooked - this picture was taken mid fishtail. Once it fishtailed so strongly that it nearly tipped over (the wind was around 12-15mph when that happened) - perhaps there was something wrong with the towing line?

Anyways, its nice to sail in late November wearing little more than a cotten overshirt :)

You should do it! I had an absolute blast on my 18 last year. The wave would be fun as well as most days had lots of wind--the Wave's forte. Just bought my shuttle ticket, and you should too as they are going fast 33/55 sold.
